Journal 2

With microsoft word my experience has been a roller coaster. I used microsoft in a public school but once I switched to a private school it was back to a pencil and paper they were not on technology aspect. But as years went on they started to show us how to use it. Middle school they started to show us a little more. But teachers just gave us the basics how to change the font and select the size. My teachers never really focus on the important details. They just taught us how to write an essay. Once I got to highschool I kinda had to learn it on my own. With more assignments being specific on spacing and using powerpoints. Powerpoints were being used for presentation more frequently it was a lot to handle. But once I made it to college teachers walk students through and give directions in class and on paper. But once I started taken intro to technology it got really in depth. I have learned new easy ways I wished that I was taught back in the day. Copyrighting can be difficult. Doing research paper can be difficult because of the citation and trying to word in your own words. Especially when you are submitting it online because canvas can pick up if you copyrighted. I think that the standards should be lowered and teachers should focus on it a little bit more. Yes, people do work hard for their work. But writing a large paper on a certain topic can be stress trying to be copyrighting. As a teacher, I would help students work on citations and and assist them on how not to copyright. Also help them succeed. Cyberbullying is a huge problem. I do not take it lightly. I know people who are depressed and gave up on life. As a teacher I would keep an eye on social media and on my students. I would listen and be there for them if they need it. I would show them the right way on how to respect one another. I would be strict at least take time out of class once a week and talk about it. I'd show them the consequences and examples on how people feel. I personally do not want to blow it off and have parent come to class upset because something happen to their child. Another one is lack of funding. I would try to hold meetings and fundraisers. At least once a month. When I was at the private school that's what they did and they succeed even though that families still had to pay tuition. But the fundraisers is what us out resources and became on of the top private schools in the state.

  1. Hi!
Being born in Trinidad, I was used to nothing but pencil and paper. Since coming from an early age to America, it definitely had an impact on how I got used to MS Word in elementary school. At first I learned things like inserting an online picture and how to change the color fonts. It was a fun experience for me trying out Word for the first time.

  2. wow, it surprising that a private school would not try to use technology in its lessons. In my experience in public school, we used the Microsoft word program frequently
