I am going to be completely honest I am not a big fan of using twitter. I really do not go on social media. I know how to use it I just don't not use it at all. I guess it is the way I was raised, not allowed to use social media. It is an easy app to use but is not an attention grabber or motivating resource for me to be excited to use for school. There is nothing bad about the app. It is just a personal conflict of interest.

Doing the website design was very entertaining. I really got involved with it and became artistic in ways I never seen myself do. I have always wonder how do you create websites. This project was really enjoyable. I did mine as A 6th grade math teacher. I now know the basics of how creating a website. But I do not see myself creating one in the near future only because I am not going to be a teacher. But I can go back to it for projects or starting my own company. Here is what my homepage looks like when you open and the link.

Assistive and Adaptive technology are used to help students or individuals with learning disabilities or special needs. Not just with school but also outside of it. I have not seen a lot of people use sorts of that kind of technology. The only one I can think of is my brother using the IPAD for instructional use because of his ADHD that was hardly controllable when he was younger. I went to a small school growing up with very little classmates. The only technology we used growing up was just computer. No tablets, no IPADS, absolutely the bear minimum. But if someone was using it on the computer I did not notice it. The challenges I see is other students being distracted by the use of it. Also, other people using it and breaking something that is not theirs. These resources today are super expensive.

I started to go back to my old roots by looking at my elementary, middle school, and high school. None of my old teachers I had have a welcome or teacher page which I found quite odd. I think all teachers should have a teacher page for parents can see. But I went and looked up the teacher that I have been observing at FSUS who teaches 3rd grade. She has one it is very organized. All teachers should have website pages to give parents an idea about the child's teacher and basically a background check. Teachers webpage can be used for upcoming assignments, test, and quizzes. Teachers can post their lesson plans and parents can see what they are doing in and out of class.

Using technology in the future after college is going to be an everyday thing for me. Even in my occupation today it grows and we have to learn newer technology every month. But technology will be used everyday. Pen and paper are becoming very slim. Everything that you do in class now can be done on a computer. Students can write note read textbooks online and communicate with their fellow classmates. I will not require students to use pen and paper in my class. Everyday and every year there is newer technology and it will be my job to prepare them and have them ready for the next level.

Last week the tech sandbox was really enjoyable. I learned about the virtual technology, 3D printer and pens , and the 360 classroom on the tablet. The 360 classroom app on the tablet was neat. Students and have basically 3D models pop up and you can move it around with your fingers and click on a certain area and it will give you information about it. Like for an example I clicked on the solar system and it brought the sun and all the planets up. You use the camera on the Ipad or tablet and use it with the app. Then you can click on a planet and it would give you details about it. I thought that was interesting because it could help students learn and use it as a study system.

Since I have been using diigo I have actually enjoyed it. It is a really easy accessory that anyone can use. It is not that hard to understand. I like that you can highlight information and comment on it and share with our classmates. I think that it is like a blog format but post everything for you. You basically find something and share about it. There is nothing about this tool that I do not like. It is easy becaically does everything for you and all you have to do it highlight and put down your comment.

Blogging has been very interesting. Before I entered this class I would have never thought I would start a blog. Blogging has been actually fun I have learned a lot. I have gotten better on writing. I say that because I have not been the best writer out there so this has been great practice. Another reason why I like it, is I like seeing what people have to share and explain ways on furthering education technology. Also, learning on how to publish on a website and using it to better myself in learning as technology grows. There nothing that do not like about blogging. But I have not been a huge writer but writing has grown on me since I have started.

Youtube is probably the biggest tool in today's modern technology for education. Youtube has multiple resources. Teachers can watch videos from other teachers and find new ways to become an effective teacher. Students can use it for examples on homework look up problems and simplify it. Students can also watch videos on certain subjects and use it as a resource to study. Parents can also us it at home to help with their kids homework. A lot of teachers today use in their lesson plans on explain information.

Blog #4

Using twitter has not grabbed my interest yet. I come from a family that does not really use social media so I grew up not using it till I enrolled in my class. I am still trying to learn twitter. But I have learn new ways to interact with people and keep up with today's education. I have not yet to notice on how it is going to affect the future of education. I just see it as a distraction if anything. Twitter will help us in the future by keeping us involved with today's current events. Also, get young people involved with politics. I see it growing in educational use in the future. As teachers are trying to get students involved with the newer technology I see it becoming a well useful app. Twitter also has its ups and down. People can become pretty hostile on that app.

The digital divide plays a huge part in the education process today. The reason why I say this is because less fortunate schools can not stay up to date with the technology because of cost. But the more fortunate schools can. I went to private and public schools my whole life. I was behind as I went back to public schools because they can afford the technology. I can tell the difference from my fellow classmates. Private schools have a hard time keeping up with it. But not all private schools are like that. Some cause are people cannot afford or schools do not have the resources.

Two software tools that I think are important are successmaker which is an elementary software for them to use to understand math. I recently observed a 3rd grade class that was using it. Also, I remember using it growing up it was a really helpful website and very entertaining. Another resourceful website is microsoft onenote. Pen and paper are becoming out of style. Now everything is on computers or laptops. This semester I just recently started using it. It is a very helpful software and it does not hurt your hand like writing notes for 1:30. Successmaker can help get kids into using technology and help with their math skills. Onenote can help take notes and eliminate from carrying multiple notebooks and textbooks around from class to class.

ILP #1

I looked up infographing technology on google. Canva was a website that came up and I looked around and used. I talked about 3rd grade math and created little flashcard or note card project. Definitely a website I will us in the near future. Canva's free version had a lot of useful resources. It was an easy website to use and I think everyone can use it. This project was a little bit out of my comfort zone. But was really cool to use.

journal 3

I read and picked grade 3 for the ELA. The one standard that stood out and got my interest is LAFS.3.RI.2.5. The reasons it got my attention was it was knowing how to use hyperlinks, sidebars, and key words. Also to locate relevant information to given topics. Which I recently learned this year on how to use and which was also interesting because 3rd graders are learning how to use. But now that I know how to use it I would teach the students and walk them through the process multiple times. Then I would sit with one on one and have them walk me through it. I changed up the grade and went 6th grade mathematics. The toolkit I would use is the is the student resource. It has videos and examples to help the student understand the curriculum. I would have the student do one section a night and have them write what they learned and what the section it was. Also have them write a summary how helpful it was. This resource can be used at home if they have questions or if they are stuck on a problem. Doing the newspaper was giving me all sorts of trouble and headaches. It was definitely out of my comfort zone. I never had trouble with an online assignment like that. But once I got the hanging of it and understanding of it, it got easier as the assignment went on because of the practice in class. I miss read some of the instructions but went back and fixed them. But now understanding the tools in the toolbar I can navigate and make an exceptional newsletter when the time comes for the next one. But practicing more and more made it 100 times better. Also, learning new and better ways I can improve my skills.
